Concrete Overlays

Polymer-modified overlays are usually applied from 1/32 – to 3/8-inch thick but can be applied several inches thick for structural repairs. Due to the polymers contained within them, the overlays have a tenacious bond when applied over concrete. The compressive strength of our overlays range from 5,000 to well over 8,000 psi , whereas the concrete beneath is typically 2,500 to 3,000 psi.

Before an overlay is installed, the existing slab must first be prepared. This would involve cleaning the surface, grinding off any worn-out coating or overlay, or doing minor repairs. Our Overlays can be integrally colored or tinted with liquid stain after the fact, with a wide variety of patterns so the owner’s design choices are nearly unlimited. Once installed to the existing concrete, they offer increased levels of performance to damage from salt, chemicals, UV exposure, freeze-thaw conditions, and abrasion.
